I agree 100% with your blog post. In my post I wrote that I think that valentine’s day is a day for everybody to celebrate and not a day to dread. Also, cards and candy from your parents is the best! I think that a greeting card company would stand out from others companies if their cards were funny or sentimental.

I thought your blog post was very entertaining. I also think that Valentine ’s Day can have its ups and downs! I would have to agree that getting nothing on Valentine ’s Day would be the worst gift and we have all probably had that happen to us!

Valentine’s Day.. A day of celebrating love <3

17 02 2012

Valentine’s Day can be a very controversial holiday. I think people either hate it or love it. Most people that are in a relationship get very excited for it and celebrate but many single people become very bitter on this day. I personally think it’s annoying and selfish when people are bitter and jealous on this day. Valentines is a day to celebrate everybody who you love not just your boyfriend or girlfriend. It is a day to celebrate your family and friends as well. I personally am in a relationship so I was pretty satisfied with my gift this year. I received flowers, a card, and some jewelry. I thought my gifts were very thoughtful and made me happy  Just as much as I like getting gifts I like giving them just as much. I always get really excited when giving somebody a gift and it makes me just as happy as if the gift were for me. This is the first year I have really gotten a valentines gift so I can’t say I have really had a bad gift but if I did I would not be able to find it in my heart to tell the person that I did not like it.
If I worked for a florist I think February would be a very crucial month to win over customers. I think my main strategy to persuade the public to buy from my company rather than my competitors is to lower the price and make sure the flowers have the best colors, wide variety of flowers, and a pretty vase and package. I think with these factors you can persuade people to buy your product over others.

Comments on pet peeves

I found your blog post to be very interesting. A lot of the same things that bother you also bother me. The main pet peeve I mentioned in my blog post it people that chew with their mouths closed. I read on yours how you have to live with 15 other girls and deal with that every day. I can only imagine your pain! I agree also with how annoying it can be when people don’t try. The main reason it is annoying it because you feel like you have to go the extra mile and do the work they are slacking on!

The three things you said right off the bad pretty much nailed it. Those are all things that are super annoying to be and I forgot to even mention them in my post! Eating my food is so irritating. I can’t stand when I’m sitting their eating a bag of chips and somebody sticks their dirty hand inside it and takes about half of them!

Pet Peevese…. What are yours?

10 02 2012

Although I am a pretty patient and easy going person I do, like everybody else, have a few of those annoying things called pet peeves. I would have to say my biggest pet peeve is people who chew with their mouths open. When I was growing up my sister used to do this all the time. I think half the time she did it just to annoy me. Every time she did it I grew very frustrated and yelled at her. When people other than my family chew with their mouths open it annoys me even more because I can’t yell at them about it. Another pet peeve I have is if I am having a conversation with me and they do not respond after I say something. I understand that it didn’t need a response but a “Yeah I know what you mean” would be greatly appreciated. I have a few more little ones not worth mentioning but those are my most irritating ones.

Here are the blog posts that I commented on for the book/movie topic:

I thought your blog entry was very interesting. I do agree that when we are younger we are more likely to want to read a book then we are later in life. I also agree that the main reason I don’t read anymore is because of technology. It is fascinating how much technology takes over our lives and how we chose it over anything else. I have not read the book you discussed at the end of your discussion but it sounds interesting to me, I would probably enjoy it.

I really appreciated your blog post. I found it very interesting to read and learn your perspective on the subject. I do agree that Harry Potter and Twilight are very good book to movie adaptions. I am not a very big Twilight fan but I have heard a lot about it and I know it has a massive fan population. I read Harry Potter when I was younger and I also watched the movie. The movie was a little different than I expected it to be based on the book but I think J.K. Rowling did a great job translating it.

Read the book, or watch the movie?

31 01 2012

I personally am not much of a reader so I usually prefer to watch the movie over reading the book. Although this is the case most of the time, there are a few exceptions. If I am able to really get into a book (which is very rare) I do enjoy reading the book over the movie. This has only happened a few times in my life though. I would rather sit in front of the TV with some popcorn, relax, and watch a good movie. Reading seems too much like school to me. My favorite book to movie adaption is “Soul Surfer.” This is a book about a young girl who was on the track to be a professional surfer. While she was surfing one day she got bit by a shark and it took her whole arm off. It is a very inspirational novel. I recently saw this movie and it was amazing to see the differences between the movie and the book. The movie did a really good job of recreating the book.

These are the names, links, and comments that I made on the blog post titles “Bucket List”

I really enjoyed reading your blog entry. It is very interesting to see the differences in each student’s bucket lists. I found your list to be entertaining because it has a lot of similarities to my list. I agree that traveling is a must do before you die. There are so many amazing places to see in the world and everybody should get the opportunity to explore these places. I also put that I would like to skydive. It seems cliché but I have heard great things about it and it seems like something that interests me. I liked that at the end of your post you wrote that you would like to go to the Thanksgiving Day parade. That is also something I would like to do but I forgot to mention it in my post. I watch the parade every year and it has become a family tradition of mine.

I thought your blog entry was very interesting. One of the things that really stuck out to me on your blog post was that you want to have a good job one day that you enjoy in the Public Relations field. That is something that I mentioned in my blog post as well and I think that is very important. I thought it was interesting that you have never been to New York City or LA because I have not been to either one of those places either. I would love to go to New York City and shop! The last thing I thought was interesting that you wrote was that you would like to go snorkeling in the great barrier reef. That is something that I would also enjoy doing. I think that would be an opportunity of a lifetime and I hope we both get the chance to do it one day.

Bucket List

21 01 2012

I do not actually have a bucket list written out on paper but I have few things in mind that I would like to do before I die that could be referred to as a “bucket list.” One of the main things that are on my bucket list is to travel to Italy. There are a few other places I would like to travel to but Italy is my number one dream destination. I also think it would be a great experience to backpack abroad. Another thing I would really like to do is sky dive. I have always been a little scared to do it but I would like to try it out before I die. There are also a few landmarks that I would like to see. I think it would be a great experience to see Mount Rushmore and the Grand Canyon. I have learned a little bit about them but I would love to learn a lot more about these famous attractions. The most fulfilling thing I want to do in my future is eventually get married and have kids. I believe the most rewarding thing in life is to start a family and be surrounded by people that I love and that love me.

I have already posted all three of my teacher comments and six of my classmate comments in a previous post. Here are my remainder 3 comments on classmate’s blogs.

The first comment I posted was on http://kellywinkler.wordpress.com/

I really appreciated reading your post about twitter. I found it very interesting that you gave background information and history regarding the topic. I also think twitter is a very useful tool. I think it is useful for business and it is used a lot for information. I personally have a twitter account and I use it multiple times a day. My friends and I use it to communicate and also for entertainment. I find twitter interesting because you can connect with celebrities and businesses.

I really enjoyed reading this blog post. I looked at this topic with a lot of the same output and ideas. I agree that learning to blog was very informational to us when taking this class. I think that it will also be very useful in the future. I believe that knowing how to blog and use the internet is very crucial especially when dealing with a lot of the jobs that come along with public relations. I really appreciated learning this tool and look forward to using it in the future.

Third comment: http://sammykh.wordpress.com/2011/10/07/22/#respond

I thought this blog entry was very interesting. I did not choose this specific topic to write about this week so I found it appealing to read your point of view on it. I agree with you when you said that publicity and public relations seem to be a like but are very different. I think that a lot  of people who are not very knowledgeable about this specific subject to not understand that they are not the same thing. I enjoyed reading your post and learned a lot from it.

What have you enjoyed, or not, about your blogging experience this semester? Do you anticipate regularly updating your blog for non-class purposes after this semester? Why or why not?

2 12 2011

One of my favorite things that I have done this semester in this class is blogging. I have never had a blog before nor have I used one until taking this class. I really enjoyed writing about all of the different topics and it taught me a lot about public relations and social media networking. One of my favorite blog posts that we did this semester was the one concerning face book. I could really relate to this topic and I appreciated researching more about it. There is nothing I could say negatively about my blogging experience this semester.

It is actually really interesting that we were asked to right about this topic this week because I was just talking to one of my roommates about it. I was telling her that she should try out blogging because it is a useful tool in getting information out to the public. We were also discussing about how I wanted to continue blogging in my future after this class ends. I want to update my blog to be more creative and write about things that really interest me. I think blogging is very entertaining and it is beneficial to be knowledgeable on how a blog works. I thoroughly appreciated getting familiar with this tool this semester and learning so much about it.
